BRYTER’s data views enable you to showcase data from a connected database to your end users. Data views further empower end user interaction through configurable action buttons, such as Approve or Reject.
Note on legacy behavior: Data view actions
Please be aware that new data view actions now utilize Start parameters instead of URL parameters to transmit data to modules. While existing actions will continue to operate as intended for the time being, it is advisable to transition to the new process by creating and configuring a new action while deleting the existing one.
Setting up data views
Learn how to set up a data view and choose the fields from a database that you want to showcase.
Each data view is dedicated to displaying records from a single database. However, you can configure multiple data views to exhibit different sets of records from the same database. Additionally, data views can only showcase records from databases within the same application or linked through a shared package.
Configuring data views
Customize your data view to meet your requirements with the following options:
- Enable an expanded format for specific field values within your data views. When activated, fields containing extensive text or information will be automatically expanded.
- Configure which records from the database are displayed in the data view. Tailor the view to show different records to different end users.
- Determine the display order of database records in the data view. For example, showcase the newest records first.
- Allow end users to make changes to editable data view fields.
- Enhance your data view with configurable data view actions, allowing end users to process records using modules. You can also equip your data view with a data view global action to launch modules with a button at the top of the data view.
- Define parameters that a module can pass to the data view. Utilize parameters in conditions for filtering and in actions.
- Duplicate or delete a data view.
Sharing data views
Ensure the right end users access your data view in the appropriate scenarios using the following options:
- By default, all authenticated end users can access your data view with the link. However, you can customize end user access.
- Present a data view in context by adding it to a published application.
- Enable end users to be redirected to a data view at the conclusion of a module with a Redirect Result.
