Within the published data view, your end users have the ability to fine-tune how data is presented to them. End users can:
- Filter and sort / records in a data view.
End users cannot modify filter settings to display data that you have filtered out. They can only display data that you have configured for them.
- Hide and show columns.
- Resize column width.
- Group records by preconfigured values.
All of the above settings are saved and automatically applied whenever end users access the published data view. These customizations are individual and apply specifically to the user's view of the data within the data view, ensuring each user's preferences are respected.
While any configurations made by authors, such as filter settings and column displays, are applied universally to all end users, individual customizations by end users only affect their own view of the data.
The data view will display in its last saved state, but end users can reset any filters and hidden columns at any time to return to the initial view.
End users can also access a detailed view of any record within their data view. Simply hover over the left-most field in the row of the desired record and click on the Open button that appears. This action will launch a modal, providing end users with comprehensive details of the selected record, along with the available data view actions.
Group records by preconfigured values
Once you, as an author, have preconfigured values in your data view configuration, end users can use the Group by dropdown in the published data view to group the data view records by those values.
