End users
A published application can be used without requiring the end user to register or log in (e.g., by protecting it via password or publicly embedding it on a webpage). In this case, the IP address of the non-authorized user is not saved in a database of BRYTER. It is only saved in log files which is required for information security and auditing reasons. An example log file looks like this:
2020-07-23 08:55:40 194.39.218.10 - - [23/Jul/2020:06:55:40 +0000] “POST /api/engine/start HTTP/2.0” 200 2159 “https://company.bryter.io/s/GfPfs_/name” “Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.0” 402 0.127 [bryter-engine-8080] [] 10.1.158.251:3000 4276 0.128 200 e1ff3f23850e3773286c0f560c820425
Log files are saved for 90 days as of the last login and deleted afterwards. Since BRYTER does not process or store any personal data apart from IP addresses of nonregistered users in log files as shown above, it cannot make any relations to other personal user data.
Authors
BRYTER processes login data of authors, especially their email address, first and family name. The author’s IP address is saved in the log files (see above) and additionally in a BRYTER database for auditing reasons. BRYTER can make relations to other personal data of an author as it can link the IP address to the email address. The log files as well as the database entries are saved for three months as of the last login.
