The BRYTER Microsoft Word Add-in allows you to easily automate Word document templates within BRYTER by providing quick access to placeholders and commands. This guide outlines the requirements, setup, and usage of the Add-in.
Requirements
To use the BRYTER Microsoft Word Add-in, your organization must have Microsoft 365, specifically the 365 version of Word. The Add-in must be set up by your IT Administrator.
Reach out to your BRYTER contact person or support@bryter.io for support and the required configuration file.
Setting Up the BRYTER MS Word Add-in
Your IT Admin can follow these steps to deploy the BRYTER Add-in:

Access the Admin Center: Navigate to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

Deploy the Add-in:
- Click on + Deploy Add-in.
- Select Upload custom apps.

Upload the Manifest File:
- Retrieve the
manifest.xml
file from your BRYTER contact person - Upload this file to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

Select the Target Audience: Choose which users will have access to the Add-in (typically those building BRYTER modules or creating Word document templates).

Deploy the Add-in: The Admin will receive an email notification once the deployment is successful.

Instruct Users: After deployment, users should reload or reopen Microsoft Word to see the BRYTER Add-in in the top 'ribbon' toolbar.
Using the BRYTER MS Word Add-in
Once the Add-in is set up:

Access the Add-in:
- Open Microsoft Word.
- Go to the Home tab in the ribbon.
- Click on the B icon labelled Show Taskpane on the right side of the ribbon.

Inserting Commands and Placeholders:
- The Add-in task pane will open on the right side of your document.
- Click on the desired location in your document, then select the command or placeholder from the Add-in to insert it.
- For placeholders, select the text first, then click the placeholder button to wrap it in double curly brackets.
Additional Information
While the BRYTER Microsoft Word Add-in is a powerful tool for creating document templates, it is not mandatory. Users can manually enter placeholders and commands if they prefer.
