About Companies House
Companies House is the United Kingdom’s official company register. It is the UK Government department responsible for the administration of limited companies in the UK. They incorporate and dissolve companies, register company information and make it available to the public.

Law firms often require that an end user is asked to fill in lots of information about company directors and how many directorships that director holds etc. In the UK this info is publicly available for free at Companies House.
